Sport Fishing
Fuerteventura, and in particular Morro Jable, continues to be a paradise for sport fishing. We consider the various types of fish according to the different seasons. In summer, for example, we have blue marlin, white marlin, wahoo, gilt-head bream, small tuna, silverside, bicudas, etc …
Large tuna fish, such as the bluefin tuna, bigeye, yellowfin and skipjack, usually pass through these waters twice a year. Usually the skipjack tuna (15-25 kilos) first arrives in February, which is also known as white tuna. A month later the bluefin tuna and the bigeye (200-300 kilos) usually visit these waters.
In September the skipjack tuna usually swims through these waters, followed by the yellowfin (yellowfin) and behind the bigeye and the very tasty red tuna.
Consequently, deep sea fishing is a good option throughout the year. While this type of sport fishing does not always capture something, when we “tune our rods” we will be better able to attract good fish!!
Sport Fishing Plan:
Our boat is available for rent, exclusively for private use, so you will be the one who always decides the fishing plan. Depending on the time of year and the weather forecast, we can recommend one or the other options for fishing. It also depends on whether you bring your children. Perhaps it might be better to look for smaller tuna near the coast and fish for a few hours in deep water.
The most usual trip is an hour of trolling to the “Punta de Jandía”, two hours of deep sea fishing and another hour of trolling back.
Another advantage we have with our boat is the adaptable schedule, we do not have fixed hours. We can leave at dawn (fully recommended) or leave at sunset to return once the sun has set.
You can also rent the boat for two, three, four or five hours. Sometimes, just two hours of trolling at sunrise or sunset is enough to bring in two or three fish.
